BNA’s mission is to build public awareness and appreciation of the value of Brevard County’s natural resources by fostering knowledge and support of these resources and promoting ethical nature based ecotourism.

BNA’s vision is that nature and environmental systems are an important part of everyone’s life and enrich our community. The BNA will serve as one of the primary advocates of community-based nature and natural resource activities in Brevard County. It dedicates itself to the enrichment of all members of our community through an understanding and appreciation of the social and economic value of nature, natural resources, ecosystems, environmental sciences, nature-based tourism, conservation, preservation, site visitations, education, and museums of natural sciences.

Individual Membership

Any individual supportive of the BNA and its mission may become a member of the BNA by payment of annual dues as established by the Board of Directors. Applicants may join at any time and fee will be prorated by month.

Cost: $50.00 annually

Due May 1st and valid through April 30th. Individual members have one vote at the Annual Membership Meeting. Members are welcome to attend regularly scheduled Board of Directors meetings but have no vote.

Corporate Memberships

Any organization (scientific, civic, business, governmental, not- for-profit, etc.) supportive of the BNA and its mission may become a member of the BNA after approval by the Board of Directors and the payment of annual dues. Applicants may join at any time and fee will be prorated by month.

Cost: $250.00 annually

Due May 1st and valid through April 30th. Corporate members have one vote at the Annual Membership Meeting. Corporate Members designate their annual voting representative at time of payment and must promptly notify BNA of any change.

Board of Directors

Members in good standing may nominate (or self-nominate) a member in good standing to serve on the BNA Board of Directors. Nominations are accepted June 1st through August 31st. The slate of nominees is published in September and the vote occurs at the Annual Board of Directors Meeting in October. Members of the newly elected Board of Directors assume their positions at the following Board of Directors meeting. The BNA Chair may appoint a member at any time to fill the remainder of a vacant position. A $100 fee from each Board member is due annually at the Annual Board of Directors Meeting in October.

Brevard Nature Alliance does not sell our member’s information to any third party, however statistical and demographic information may be provided to third parties as part of grant applications, sponsorship requests, etc.

Brevard Nature Alliance is charted as a Not-for-Profit Corporation under the laws of the State of Florida and is an IRS 501©3 tax exempt charitable organization.
